6.7 Miles: Soft surface run

Today I ran 6.7 on soft surfaces (grass, trails, etc.) around the local area.  Work is very busy right now and my time to run is more limited. Good for the bank, not great for running.


5.8: Water bill run

Monday I ran the water bill over to the town dropbox. Saved a stamp and got in a run.

8.2 miles Thursday.



Thursday Afternoon I did an 8 mile soft surface run using my trail shoes.  Wacky path but it worked.

About 20 miles (wednesday).

Wednesday morning I ran around 20 miles. I forgot to start the GPS for the first few miles but I think I had run around 4 at that point.  Decent run.

5 miles in sprints

Today I was short on time for a run so I did wind sprints all over the local fields. I was also trying to get in as many of the small (tiny) hills there I could. I think it was a good workout despite being short.

12.1: Soft surface run

I got new trail running shoes about a week ago but with all the rain I could not bring myself to run in the mud with new shoes. Today I went for a run on the trails and soft surfaces (grasses) in my local area. It was a good run. The shoes felt great.


This was the last run of gradual increase I have been doing. I'll be doing a shorter "Speed" type run tomorrow morning mainly due to a lack of time.

11 miles: the path to nowhere

Today I ran 11 miles around town. Since we moved here a few years ago, a nice path was built. The only issue is it's about 1/4 mile long and goes nowhere.  I run over there every once in while to see if that has changed. Visual answer below:

10 miles: mostly in loops


Today I ran 10 miles in loops around the local park. It was raining on and off and when that happens I don't like to run on the road.

Nine at night (Sunday)

Last night I ran 9 miles around the complex. It was dark, rainy, cold and great! I love the cold weather.

Good run overall. Slow first few miles since I ate with the family before heading out. Last mile likely the best.

8.3. The build keeps going

Still building back up slowly by running just a bit more than the last run. I did 8.3 tonight around the complex. Last few miles were better than the first - so that's good.

7.5 miles: Beating the rain

Today I ran 7.5 miles. The afternoon run was switched to a late morning run in an attempt to avoid the coming rain. It worked. Slow run today, but fun.

6.5 miles: Keeping the increase going

Today I ran 6.5 miles by running loops at the local park. This run was a bit different in that I added in some speed work in between my normal slow pace.  Feeling better, I'm not at 100% but I'm close.

Took a three mile run tonight around the complex. Still working at slowly building back up. Tomorrow, will likely be a 4 mile run.


2 miles: Minor run (Thursday)

Last night I ran two miles around the complex. Short run, not sure exactly how to come back from this sickness.  Trying to go slow and build up.

4.5 miles: getting back

Today I ran about 4.5 miles in a loop towards town and back. It was a good run.  I'm not sure I'm 100% but I was good enough to give it a go. So I went.

Christmas morning I ran five miles with the wife. Good run but I felt worse afterwards and for the next few days.
