around 10.5 miles

Today I ran about 10.5 miles. I ran to the park and then did three loops. It was 91 and humid at the end of the run. I took in about 2 liters of water. I forgot to start the mapping app. A lack of sleep did not help.

10.2 miles: Baked runner and checkup

Today I ran 10.2 miles. It was 95 and sunny at the end of the run. The first 6 miles went rather well and I thought I had developed some sort of super hero immunity to the heat. However, it caught up with me during the last 4 miles and the last 2 were rather sad. Anyway, a decent run overall (about 2.5 liters of water, 3 endurolytes) .

Yesterday I had a physical (last one was about 2 years ago). My doctor was really happy with all my stats (e.g., heart rate and blood pressure). My heart rate was 60. I'm not sure what the numbers were on the blood pressure. Blood work pending as a routine check. So I guess the running is paying off.

5 miles (Sunday night)

I ran 5 miles to downtown and back Sunday night. I did a mix of jogging, "sprints", and some walking in between. I forgot to record the temperature. The sun was down but it was still very warm.

7.6 miles

(Downtown Franklin: closed to cars)

Today I ran 7.6 miles. It was 82 with 67% humidity at the end of the run (2.4 liters of water, 2 endurolytes). Last Saturday was my worst run in years; this run was my best of the month. I felt good (considering) and pushed it at the end.

11.6 miles: Still hot

I ran about 11.6 miles today (about 3 liters of water and 5 endurolytes). It was sunny, 91 degrees and 54% humidity at the end of the run. It was overcast at times during the run which did help - but it's still hot. Dreaming of the cold. A decent run for the conditions.

8.2 Miles: Heat Advisory

Well today there was a heat advisory today and I felt the reason behind it during the run. It was 93%, sunny and humid. It was hot. Longer runs will have to wait. It's too hot. Given the conditions it was a decent run.

5 miles: Frozen yogurt, chocolate toppings and wine

I had a much better run today (80 degrees and 64% humidity). Yesterday's run was really bad; I'm not sure what the problem was but it may have been I didn't eat enough. I fixed that by having Frozen yogurt, chocolate toppings, pizza and wine. I don't think those things really help but they didn't hurt.

5.4 miles: nothing there.

Today was likely my worst "Run" in years. I ran about 2 fine but then hit some sort of wall. I had nothing, no energy. I didn't feel sick just 100% out of gas. I walked most of the way back home. Likely a combination of poor sleep and not eating enough; at least that is what I hope it was. It was 81 degrees with 64% humidity.

10.2 Miles; more summer fun

Today I ran 10.2 miles. It was 87 degrees with 61% humidity at the end of the run. It was overcast to sunny during the run. I took in about 2.4 liters of liquid and some pretzels. I'd love to be running longer but 10 miles seems to be about it for now.

Up next: about 10 on Saturday and 5 on Sunday.

10 miles

I ran 10 miles (2.4 liters of water, 3 endurolytes) . It was 89 degrees and sunny at the end of the run. The run went better than I would have guessed given the heat warnings out for today. It wasn't a great run in an absolute sense but good for a hot summer run.

Up next: Friday around 10 (depends on the weather)

5 mile Starbuck run

I did the Starbucks run this morning. It was sunny with 83 degrees and 81% humidity by the end of the run. If it was this hot and sunny year-round I doubt I would be a runner. This summer is just about being in good enough shape to really run in the fall.

9.7 Miles: the meltdown

Today I went 9.7 miles, not enough sleep, too much heat, way too much Sun, and southern humidity do not mix well. Glad I went out. I didn't feel bad and had some fun but the pace was not great.

8 Miles

Today I ran 8 miles (about 1 liter of water). The goal of doing a really long run didn't happen. I'm much busier work-wise than I've been in a long time (which is good for the bank). It was overcast but humid.

up next: Saturday a mid-distance run and Sunday the 5 mile run.

7 treadmill miles

I did 7 miles on the treadmill today. Treadmill running is not my favorite thing but it seemed like a better choice today given the weather and traffic. Friday I'm running outside and hopefully a longer run.

5 mile Mushroom run

I did the 5 mile starbuck run again today. It was 88 degrees at the end of the run. The most interesting thing were the mushrooms that popped up over night.

5 mile starbuck run

I strongly dislike the southern summer. It was 85 and sunny on my first run back. I guess the break was good. I couldn't even remember if it was my left or right ankle/heel that hurt. All pains were gone and the run was not much of a problem other than the stinking no good heat.
